Benefits of Pooja for Baanalingam and Putrulingam

Lingam in a temple is called as Baanalingam. Offering raw rice powder by applying it as circles around the baanalingam and offering it with sugar rice to people is one of the methods of prayers offered as it removes several types of nagadosham.

Lingam in the form of a putru or soil formation like a hill is called as putru lingam. Applying sandal paste, lighting incense sticks, applying turmeric and kumkum along with flowers along with milk payasam is a simple pooja and offering it to people after pooja will safeguard family from various troubles.
