    If planet saturn is placed in places like 2,7 and 8 in one's astrological birth chart or if planet saturn is debilitated or in vagra state or combined with malefic planets one had to do remedy for avoiding problems caused by planet saturn. According to virutcha shastra, one has to plant Tamarindus indicus to get benefits from planet saturn.It is called as pulia maram (புளிய மரம்) in Tamil. The plant has to be planted on first saturday of saturn dasa period from six to seven in the morning. The plant can be grown in road sides, end of a village and on backyard of a house.Before one day of plantation,little bit of sesame seeds  should be immersed in a silver vessel or pot vessel.After the plantation is done, the sesame seed water is served to the plant.Sesame seeds should be given to buffalo.    

  In jupiter dasa, mercury bhukti will be the third sub period.For avoiding ill effects of jupiter placed in unfavourable places in one's astrological chart, one has to plant pulia maram ( Tamarindus indicus ) in road sides and temple garden as described in virutcha shastra.It is called புளிய மரம் in Tamil.  The plant has to be planted on first wednesday of jupiter dasa mercury bhukti.A day before plantation, little bit of green gram should be immersed in water.The next day pulia maram should be planted and green gram water should be served to the plant.Green gram should be given to cow or birds.   

   People who are born in stars like thiruvathirai, swathi and sathayam come under planet ragu. In ragu dasa ragu bhukti is the first bhukti . according to virutcha shastra, one has to plant Pulia maram (Tamarindus indica) to avoid the ill effects of ragu. It is called புளிய மரம் in tamil. one day before the day of plantation, little bit of black gram should be immersed in water. The plant should be planted on the morning of first tuesday of ragu dasa ragu bhukti period in public places and garden.After plantation black gram water should be given to the plant. The black gram should be given to goat.

    In mars dasa, saturn bhukti is the fourth sub period. During this period according to virutcha shastra one has to plant pulia maram (Tamarindus indicus) to avoid the bad effects of mars if it is placed in unfavourable houses in one's astrological chart. It is called புளிய மரம்  in tamil.The plant should be planted in public places, temples or in garden. Before a day of plantation, little bit of green gram should be immersed in water.The plant should be planted in morning during the first saturday of mars dasa saturn bhukti period . After plantation green gram water should be served to the plant. The green gram should be given to buffalo.
