  M ercury dasa is the dasa period that comes after saturn.If Mercury is in places like 6,8,12 or in a debilitated in rasi or amsam or exalted in a retrograde state in one's astrological chart, one will be affected during mercury dasa or bhukti. To avoid problems caused by Mercury, one has to plant according to karungali maram ( Diospyros tupru  ) according to  virutcha shastra.It is கருங்காலி மரம்  in tamil. The plant has to be planted on wednesday morning in mercury hora from 6-7 in the morning. Before one day of plantation, little bit of green gram should be immersed in water.After plantation the green gram should be served to the plant.The green gram should be given to goat.The karungali tree can be planted on river sides. 

 The fifth sub period that comes in saturn dasa is sun bhukti.For avoiding bad effects caused by saturn, one has to plant karungali maram ( Diospyros tupru ) according to virutcha shastra.It is called as கருங்காலி மரம் in Tamil. The plant has to be planted on sides of road sides and public charities.The plant has to be planted during first sunday morning of saturn dasa sun bhukti period.Before one day of plantation, little bit of wheat has to be immersed in water.After plantation wheat water has to be served to the plant.The wheat should be given to goat.

     People who are born in stars like mirugaseerisham, chittirai, aviitam that belongs to planet mars will be having Mars dasa as their starting period.In mars dasa, mars bhukti is the first sub period.During this period according to virutcha shastra one has to  plant Karungali maram (Diospyros tupru) to avoid the bad effects of mars if it is placed in unfavourable houses in one's astrological chart.It is called கருங்காலி மரம் in tamil. Before a day of plantation, little bit of lentils is placed in water.The plant should be planted in morning during the first tuesday of mars dasa mars bhukti period . After plantation lentils water should be served to the plant. The lentils should be given to cow.  

    In moon dasa, the fourth sub period is jupiter bhukti.According to virutcha shastra one has to plant Karungali  Maram ( Diospyros tupru ) in public places, temples,river beds or in garden.It is called கருங்காலி மரம் in tamil.  one day before the plantation little bit of wheat should be immersed in water.The plant should be planted on first Thursday morning of moon dasa jupiter bhukti period.After the plantation of karungali maram, the wheat water should be served to the plant. The wheat should be given to cow.
