Punniyakodiyappar Temple - Chitra Pournami

There are rarely some temples that are surrounded by water on four sides.One such temple is punniya kodiayappar temple situated in  a place called thiruvidaivasal in thiruvarur district.

Amman is called as Abirami.This temple is the 275 th temple mentioned in devaram as found in 17th century.

This temple is said to be more than 1000 years old.

During Full moon day in tamil month of chithirai  special poojas are conducted for unmarried people and people who are longing for a child. 

This temple can be reached by going through thanjavur to thiruvarur via koradacheri which is 42 kms from thanjavur.From koradacheri, thiruvidaivasal is at a distance of 3 kms.
