One of the temples which is so famous but very old is situated in a place called thiruthankur in thiruvarur districtof tamilnadu and is called as vellimalainathar temple.Amman is called as periyanayagi.

Navagragas are situated in the form of 9 lingams as it is a rare one.Worshipping these lingams are said to be very beneficial for removing any graga dosha.

This temple is facing west side and as told by ancient rishis worshipping a sivalingam which is facing west side is 1000 times more powerful in giving blessings than temples facing east.Worshipping Lord siva and Amman here is very beneficial as blessings of lakshmi is in abundant here.

This temple is situated at a distance of 12 kms in the route of thiruvarur to thiruthuraipoondi via thirunellikaval.
