Vennikarumbeswarar Temple - Remedy for sugar patients


Diabetes is a group of metabolic diseases in which a person has high blood sugar, either because the body does not produce enough insulin, or because cells do not respond to the insulin that is produced.In india, diabetes is the second diseases that has affected 50.8 million people.

People who are having diabetes can visit a temple called vennikarumbeswarar temple situated in a place called koyilvenni in thiruvarur district of tamilnadu.The temple is said to be more than 1000 years old.

Specialities:
People who want a remedy for sugar disease mix rava with sugar for feeding it to ants after coming around the temple one time with the mixed food.After reduction or control of sugar in their blood levels, people offer  sarkarai pongal  (pongal which is sweet) to lord siva and amman.

Amman is called as alagiya nayagi.This temple is worshipped for last 4 yugas . This temple is situated at a distance of 28 kms from thiruvarur on the way to thanjavur.
