Lord siva here is called as karpaganathar as people worship him along with balasundari amman during astami tithi and on saturday during mercury hora by decorating lord siva with kumkum and cheese for getting rich with the help of the bliss by astalakshmi.

This temple is situated at a distance of 26 kms from thiruthuraipoondi on the way to puduchery via thondiakadu.
