People who are having good wealth can go to rameshwaram to offer respect and blessings of their family elders in their lineage. .People who cannot go and offer prayers to elders are affected by pithrudosha.It affects one's health, education, job, marriage and children.

People who cannot have any money can go and worship lord siva in a temple called palaivaneswarar temple situated in a place called papanasam in tamil giving meaning that it is a place for destroying sins by worshipping lord siva. amman here is called thavalavennagayaal. This temple is said to be more than 1000 years old.

Speciality of this temple is 108 sivalingam which are installed by Lord Rama.This temple is situated  in kumbakonam to thanjavur route , this temple is near papanasam in northeast direction at a distance of one km.
