Magamagam pond is so famous and in tamil month of masi, magamagam festival is celebrated with much fanfare in kumbakonam once in 12 years.This festival is celebrated in a temple called kumbeswarar temple situated in thanjavur district in kumbakonam.

People who want to live like kubera, who is the god for money can come and worship lord siva who is called as kumbeswarar.This temple is said to be more than 2000 years old.

Amman here is called mangalambigai.In tamil month of aavani, sembaruthi flowers are collected and amman is beautified and special pooja is conducted by people to get rich like kubera.This temple is situated in the middle of kumbakonam town.
