Uchinathar Temple - First food for Children
From ancient days, in india traditionally there is a custom of making a little child to write a letter of mother language in a bowl filled with rice in a temple while starting education.Like that in some parts of india giving food like ghee rice for a child for the first time in a temple is followed.
A temple situated in a place called sivapuri in cuddalore district is so special that new born and little grown up children within a year were given first food in a temple believing that the child will not suffer for food in future.

Hard food like ghee rice are given to new born children within a year as a traditional custom for good future of the child.
This temple is situated at a distance of 3 kms from chidambaram on the way to kavarapttu. This temple is said to be more than 1000 years old.
