During vinayagar chathurthi nine vinayagar idols made of turmeric, santhanam, kumkum, vibuthi,cow dung, vellam, banana and dates should be made and kolukattai and sundal should be provided separately for each vinayagar.nine five faced lamps should be separately lighted and vinayagar agaval song should be recited and after pooja. kolukattai and sundal should be offered to children.For three days new kolukattai and sundal are presented for vinayagar in pooja and on fourth day these nine vinayagar idols should be immersed in river, pond, sea or well water.
