Padikasunathar Temple - For courage

Courage is an important quality that has to be present  inside every human being  in this world. Any one in this earth  has the right to ask when something goes wrong . Practically ninety percent of people choose to avoid any situation that needs courage.

People who need some courage even to do some routine work can go and worship a temple called padikasunathar temple situated in alagaputhur in thanjavur district.The temple is said to be more than 1000 years  old.

Lord muruga can be seen with chakra and sangu and is called as kalyana sundara sanmuga subramanyar as people offer milk and payasam for pooja for getting married.sun ad moon idols are in opposite directions and those who are unable to do pithru tharpanam offer pooja to sun and moon idol and light lamps in nine pits  which are representing nine planets that are situated before them.This temple is situated at a distance of 6 kms from kumbakonam on the way to thiruvarur.
