Balasubramaniyar temple - Pugalimalai

This temple  is built by chera kings during 15 th century accoring to sthala puranam.Here vishnu durgai is very special as people light ghee lamps for 12 weeks for removing obstacles in marriage.People follow fasting during shasti for birth of a child.

This temple is situated in velayuthampalayam at a distance of 18 kms from karur on the way to salem.In ancient times this place is called as pugalimalai.
