Chandramouleeswarar Temple - Mumuga Lingam

Three faced lingam is a rare one to be worshipped as in india it is found in only one place in thiruvakkarai in villupuram district of tamilnadu.In tamil language three faced lingam is called as mumuga lingam.

Thiruvakkarai temple is so special as goddess kali s here called as vagrakaliamman.People who are facing problems when planets are going in retrograde motion come here to worship vagrakaliamman.This temple is said to be more than 1000 years old.


Three faced lingam : People worship this mumuga lingam  for rectifying all types of problems.Lord siva here is called as chandramouleeswarar.Amman is called as amirthambigai.

Vagrakaliamman : People worship vagra kaliamman to avoid bad effects when planets go backwards in retrograde motion.

Lemon lamps: Unmarried women tie yellow threads called as thirumangalya kayiru in tamil language to amman and light lamps in lemon fruit to get married soon.

Public transport is available from dindivanam  as this temple is situated on the route of dindivanam to puduchery via mayilam where one has to get down at a place called perumbakkam and has to travel 7 kms fruther to reach this temple.
